New Year's Outfit Ideas

Hello lovelies,

It blows my mind that this year is coming to an end and a new year is peeking around the corner! Where has the time gone?!

I am still a strong believer in the fact you create your own happiness. Echoing from my 2014 New Year's post, you have to get yourself out there, take that leap of faith, and try new things! Don't wish for dreams to come true, make them come true. So go out there and live a little, lovelies!

I am a big fan of sparkly clothing items, especially for a New Year's look. This might be my tacky taste talking here, but come on it's definitely the right occasion to bust out those gems! So below are a few outfit ideas for any New Years party/ get together.

Let me know which outfit you would wear/ what you will be wearing this New Year?! I'd love to hear (:

New Journey - What Am I Doing?

Hello again,

I wanted to share with you all a new journey for me. I started a YouTube channel!! It is exciting and terrifying all at the same time. I wanted to jump for joy for mustering up the courage to finally post a video, even if it's just a short introduction to what to come for the postcardsfromliz YouTube channel. But being super shy it's actually very paralyzing as well, not knowing what to expect and if internet meanies will be, mean. Sigh, whatever. I am doing this for myself, because for many years now I wanted to start a channel just for fun. This is me not letting fear hold me back, so here's to a step forward to living the dream!

Below is my intro video:

Thanks for reading & watching! (:

You are Now Exiting the Comfort Zone...

As I am getting older, I am trying to step out of my comfort zone to experience new things. Side note: I like to pretend I am frozen in the age of 18 forever, so don't burst my bubble... For this post I would like to single out one aspect of this "exiting the comfort zone" which took place today while I was shooting for a photo project.

I am not a photographer, I am  an observer. I feel most comfortable capturing photos of friends within settings I am familiar with. I personally do not believe this restricts or limits the photos I that I can create, because I find everything very interesting. However, the photos tend to seem like a continuous project and I want to branch out from the same old, same old.

My professor is always trying to get us to loosen up, grow as a person, and experiment with our approach of photography. So today I  traveled to a part of town I usually never find myself at or even knew existed really. At first it was intimating to go somewhere new and it was just plain amazing to be able to find it in the first place. But it was also scary, I felt I was not allowed there and especially not allowed to take photos. Then my professor's voice popped in my head and reminded me that photographers have RIGHTS

I think it's odd that we find things that are old,  run-down, and broken so interesting. It might look like just an old abandon building or just trash on the street but once you snap a picture somehow it gets immortalized as somewhat an interesting photo. I like to wonder if it's because we all what to believe that even if something may  be broken it still has it's own beauty.

click click.

Hello Internet,

I wanted to share a little gem I purchased a few weekends ago. It's a Konica Autoflex TC and I am so obsessed with it. First off, I am not an expert in photography or cameras so please excuse any an incorrect/lame comments from me.

I picked up this beauty at the thrift store for only $6! I am currently experimenting and learning along the way as I am taking photos for a project. It is a film SLR where you manually load film, advance the frames, and settings. I have enjoyed getting a hands-on experience working with this Konica and creating some decent prints. I might share some of the black and white prints in a future post so please stay tuned!

Daiso Haul 001.

Well hello internet, how have you been?
It's been quite a while since I posted anything, but I am back!
______________________________________________________________________

A Daiso store recently opened in my side of town, finally! My roommate has been raving about this store for over a year now, and I get what all the buzz is about! I love Daiso, it's basically a Japanese "99 cent store", but its $1.50. The quality of the items are actually pretty decent and there is a variety of products from house ware, school supplies, beauty products and so much more.

Above is a photo of my Daiso haul: a few bike lights, multi-hex key set , multi-tip screw driver, a laundry net, make up remover wipes, nose strips, a few liquid chalk makers, hand lotion, muddler spoon, a reusable floral bag, a floral folder, and a camera tripod.

I have only been to the store twice, but I am definitely hooked. So far, all the products I have picked up work great and the "extra 50 cents" does actually add to the quality of the products. I would happily recommend anyone to stop by Daiso and check out what the store has to offer.

P.S. you can find me on their Cali FB page. I appeared twice, find me (:

Dear stranger,

Postsecret has always been somewhat a supportive stranger to me. A community of people who have similar dreams, goals, fears, regrets, and experiences. I haven't been on the website for awhile due to the fast-pace life of a college student, I barely even have time to sleep. However, I went on a few days ago and not to my surprise I read a few postcards I could relate to. Then remembered why I treasured this website so much. It's not just a website, its a shared, safe place - where anyone and everyone can let their walls fall & just open up. You find yourself laughing, crying, feeling, and most importantly connecting with strangers you will probably never meet.

So here is the most recent postcard I connected with:
I think this sums up many aspects of my life. I will admit, I am a very indecisive person.

Other postcards throughout the year:
Since it is Feb. 14th

I do not own any of these photos, they are all postcards sent to 13345 Copper Ridge Rd Germantown, Maryland 20874 .

Also here's an old V. day video.
